Not sure how to unlock the Lachmann-556, the Lachmann RAPP H and the Lachmann SUB in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta? We’ve got you covered! The MW2 beta is finally here! And among many other things, players finally have a chance to try the new gunsmith 2.0 system. In between many other improvements, the new system introduces a new way of unlocking weapons and attachments. While definitely less grindy, it’s also somewhat unintuitive. Many players are confused and not sure how to unlock some weapons. In this guide, we explain how to get the Lachmann-556, the Lachmann RAPP H and the Lachmann SUB in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta.

So, the Gunsmith 2.0 system we’ve mentioned in our introduction introduces one new subsystem called “Weapons Platforms”. A Weapons Platform is essentially a set of weapons from the same manufacturer. These weapons share progression, and attachments unlocked within the same Weapons Platform can be used by any weapon from that platform. For more info, read our in-depth Modern Warfare 2 Receiver & Weapons Platform guide.

Weapons Platforms are the main method for unlocking guns in COD MW2. The very first Weapons Platform you’ll have is Tempus Armament, with the M4 as a base weapon. Other Weapons Platforms are unlocked as you progress through ranks. Now, for the weapons listed here, we want to get the Lachmann Meer manufacturer. And, you’ll unlock Lachmann Meer at Rank 16. When you unlock it, you’ll receive the base weapon of the platform, which is the Lachmann-762. Simply use Lachmann-762 during your matches in order to level up the Lachmann Meer Weapons Platform. At level 17 you’ll unlock the Lachmann RAPP H. Reach level 18 and you’ll unlock the Lachmann SUB. Finally, at level 19, you’ll unlock the Lachmann-556.

And that’s about everything you need to know about these guns. One final note, though. Currently, in the beta, there is a visual glitch which shows some weapons still have one more level to complete even though they’re at 100%. Don’t worry about that, it’s just a visual glitch in the beta, and it will be fixed. If your tree says 100%, then you’re all set.
